Elliott's First Day of Kindergarten

Elliott started school today in fact. I took the day off so I could be there for him... plus I had a lot of other things to do. Anyway, Elliott got to meet his teacher the day before. Her name is Mrs. Dummer. She is super sweet..and in fact possibly younger than myself. Elliott made a really good impression on her and she did on us. Elliott was neither over the top excited, nor scared to go.. he was just go with the flow. He had his lunch code all memorized by the time he left for school. I can't wait to hear how his day went. It was actually raining the first day of school, so I didn't have to just drop him off on the playground, Brent and I were able to walk him into the building.... he put his bag in his coat cubby and walked off with Mrs. Dummer who was waiting for him. I said I wouldn't cry, you think I could wait until I at least got out to my car! NOPE...I cried all the way to my car.... Don't tell Elliott that!

Update: Elliott had a great first day of school. With that there is always a story to be told! I picked Elliott up from his first day and I didn't really want to ask him too many questions and have him get annoyed at me, but I had asked him how his day was and he said,
"good! except my knee got stuck on the playground."
I of course said oh no! I didn't want to press him with questions, so I let it go... than later that night he says to me..."mom, you know when I got my knee stuck, my friends tried to help me out and I told them no thank you, but that isn't working...then my friends went to go and get the playground teacher to help and when she got there, she couldn't get my knee unstuck either so...... she went into the building to get some soap to see if that would work.....well that didn't work either... so.... they went inside to get MR. Otto to see if he could get my knee unstuck and by that time the bell rang and all the kids ran back into the school and there I was still stuck in the playground equipment all by myself! Finally, Mr. Otto was able to get my knee unstuck and I could go back into the building with the others. I was then of course late for lunch then."
Well after all of that, I was like you poor thing and now I am looking down at his knee and it was red on one knee. I felt terrible... so I am thinking to myself, I going to be surprised if he even wants to go back to school after that.
I was wrong... he was still just as excited to go to school the next day and beyond. What a trooper.

Ready to go!

Brent's Birthday

Brent decided that it would be fun to celebrate his birthday by going on a canoe trip down the Chippewa River. It was a great day. It was about 77deg and over cast. Our whole extended family also came. So it was Brent, I and Elliott, Jared and Tricia, Laura and Ross, Dave and Gayle, and my Dad. It was a blast , then we stopped at Loopy's for lunch.

Camping on Ekes end of August

We headed up to the hunting land for a weekend of Camping. Our weekend was a blast. It did rain both nights, but the days were both beautiful. We went on a hike, canoed, caught frogs, crickets, and grasshoppers. We will be going back up the the hill in a week for another weekend camping.

Mini Vacation~Chula Vista

We took a week off at the Beginning of August and took a trip to the Dells. We stayed for 2 days. It was so nice to get away from the regular routine and relax. The weather was great and we were in the pool a lot. We went out to dinner and did some mini golfing too. I didn't get too many pictures, but here are few.

Muckdogs T-ball Tournament

Much of June and July were spent out at the Hallie Park ball fields. We started off the year as a new team with little experience. The team worked well together and had lots of fun at all the games.

One week in particular that I want to mention was the week that they had 4 games. They never had this many and it was a scheduling reason that it happened to be this way. Anyway, that week it was 95-100deg each day with a heat index of 115deg or so. We still played and kept the boys well hydrated. That was defiantly a hot week, but the boys turned a corner and did really well and happen to win most games.

Then it was on the the Hallie Youth Days..it was 3 days at the end of July weekend. If we kept winning, we kept playing. It just so happened that we beat 3 teams that we had lost to previously that season.. So over all we didn't win the tournament, but the boys achieved individually and as a team. We are sad the season is over, but Elliott will be back next year to play.

Watching Brynn

We were so lucky to watch our new Niece for couple of Hours in July. She would have only been about 7 weeks old or so in these pictures. Elliott was there helping with everything. He loves to help.
